Psychoeducational Evaluator

Dr. Katya Sussman-Dawson

I believe that every child deserves to be understood for who they truly are and not just the challenges they face. I am passionate about approaching every evaluation from a strengths‑based lens that highlights your child’s potential and the unique qualities that make them who they are. My work as a doctoral‑level school psychologist is grounded in the belief that clarity can be deeply healing for families. When we understand a child’s cognitive and learning profiles, their needs, and the “why” behind their struggles, we create space for growth, confidence, and hope. If you are seeking clarity, direction, or a deeper understanding of your child’s strengths and needs, I would be honored to partner with you in that process.

For more than a decade, I have specialized in comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents. With extensive experience in both school and clinical settings, I bring a unique perspective that bridges educational and clinical frameworks. My evaluations are designed to help families understand not only what a child is experiencing, but also how those patterns show up in the classroom and what supports can make a meaningful difference. I work with concerns related to learning differences, attention and executive functioning, autism‑related characteristics, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and complex school‑based presentations. My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I take time to listen, to understand your child’s story, and to provide clear, practical recommendations that support both home and school success.

Families often come to me during moments of uncertainty. I understand how stressful it can feel when the things you have tried aren’t working, when your child feels overwhelmed at school, or when you sense your child isn’t reaching their full potential. My goal is to create an evaluation experience that feels supportive, transparent, and empowering. Together, we will make sense of what’s going on and identify the next steps that can help your child thrive.
